Here are some causes of compulsive gambling

What are some of the causes of a gambling addiction? As a former gambler and mental health counselor, I've done much research on why people develop a gambling problem. What I've found is that there's more than one cause of gambling addiction and that while it is important to know the cause, the solution is much more important.

Here are some of the many causes of gambling addiction:

o Gambling is exciting, while the player in action. The adrenaline high feels good, and it's pretty easy to become addicted to this "feel good" chemicals in our brains.
o Gambling compulsively can fill a void for many people with a gambling problem. This void can be in many areas of life. Poor social life, loneliness, job dissatisfaction, empty-nest syndrome, boredom and lack of objective can all contribute to a gambling addiction.
o a major victory in the casino is the worst possible event for anyone with a penchant for addiction. The adrenaline high of an enormous jackpot can future addiction such as jet fuel in an airplane fuel. Most, if not all people back the winnings of the jackpot, plus many more money also.
o escape emotional pain and mental distress can also be a gambling disorder fuel. This is especially true for "escape gamblers" who usually play slot machines, lottery, or participate in online internet gambling.
o for "action gamblers", the desire for action and feeling very important to others to be able to fuel a gambling addiction. Action gamblers are usually male and are usually sports Inc, poker players, and circuit gamblers.
o the sensation of "easy money" can fuel a gambling addiction, especially if the gambling addict a long series of WINS at the beginning of his or her gambling career.
o people with anxiety and/or depression have show a strong propensity for problem gambling and other addictions.
o people with first-degree relatives with a gambling addiction have a stronger tendency to develop this addiction.

These are just some of the common causes of a gambling problem, however, there are many more as well. In addition, each unique individual will have different reasons for having a problem with gambling, and no two situations are the same.

The main thing, however, is that once some of the causes of a gambling problem are established, that the individual pursues direct assistance for his or her problem.

The solutions, including abstinence from gambling, professional help, and support groups, self-care and lifestyle changes are key in reclaiming ones life of a gambling addiction.
