When you have a gambling addiction and you begin to remember, a plethora of emotions begin to come. This is perfectly normal, but it can be quite painful as well.
While you are actively involved in addictive behaviors, you tend to numb your feelings. If you have a gambling problem, most likely your attention on your addiction and not on a disturbing emotional feelings you may have.

Once fear or that old friend depression begin to surface, it's very easy to replace by addictions. As regards food, drugs, alcohol, shopping or sex can happen in an instant and it can really stop the recovery process.
It is best to be aware of the occurrence of substitute addictions when you stop gambling. Awareness can help you prevent an alternate addiction in the ' tracks.
Here are some tips to help you before you turn to a substitute addiction:
o with your counselor or support group talk about your feelings so that you don't like everything bottled up inside.
o Read self help literature as much as you can. It will help you to put in a more positive mindset.
o do not isolate Itself. Make sure that you keep busy. Loneliness is fuel for the addictive fire.
o make sure you eat well and exercise daily. It's hard to be healthy and addictive behaviors at the same time!
o Get a good night's sleep every night like this you keep will think clearly and feel good, both physically and mentally.
